CLEVELAND, May 16, 2006 – The Grand Prix of Cleveland Presented by U.S. Bank announced today the on-track program of events for the 2006 race weekend which will be contested June 23-25 at Burke Lakefront Airport in downtown Cleveland.

The weekend of speed will consist of three days of practice, qualifying and racing plus concerts, a go-kart track, autograph sessions, Family Fun Zone amusements and free access to the paddock.

The Grand Prix of Cleveland weekend will be highlighted by the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford race, which is set for Sunday, June 25 at 2:30 p.m. In addition, there will be a double-header by the Yokohama Presents The Champ Car Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda, a double-header by the Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship and a Saturday afternoon race by featuring The Touring Challenge for Corvettes, thus providing a full and exciting weekend of racing for Northeast Ohio race fans.

The Champ Car World Series features some of the greatest racecar drivers in the world competing in the most diverse and exciting series in the world. Past Cleveland champions Sebastien Bourdais and Paul Tracy, along with 2004 Rookie of the Year A. J. Allmendinger, Mexican star Mario Dominguez and rising star Katherine Legge are among the drivers that compete in the series.

Continuing its new theme, “A Three Day Festival of Speed”, plans for the 2006 Grand Prix of Cleveland include the addition of Freestyle Motorcross exhibitions as well as more music, interactive displays, charity events and promotional activities. The weekend festival is expected to draw over 100,000 fans.
