CLEVELAND, Mar. 6, 2006 - Tickets for the 2006 Grand Prix of Cleveland Presented by U.S. Bank, to be held June 23 - 25 at Burke Lakefront Airport, are on sale now. This year's event is expected to be a hotter ticket than ever before, with a number of new fan amenities and festival-oriented activities that will make the 2006 Grand Prix of Cleveland Presented by U.S. Bank a tremendous value for fans.
As the Grand Prix of Cleveland celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2006, the event welcomes new ownership that is committed to making the event more accessible and enjoyable for a broader fan base. When the roar of 750-horsepower Champ Cars is once again heard on the shores of Lake Erie, fans will benefit from new innovations such as numerous jumbo video screens viewable from all seating locations, a convenient internal shuttle, and more on-site parking. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy live music, extreme motorsports demonstrations, the Miss Grand Prix of Cleveland competition, a Health and Lifestyles Expo, and a Family Fun Zone with interactive games, rides, inflatables, and other activities for children.
The Grand Prix of Cleveland is also introducing free access to the Paddock for all spectators, giving all ticket holders behind-the-scenes access to meet the drivers and see the racing teams up close. Fans that purchase 3-day reserved grandstand tickets in Grandstands D, E and F will also receive a complimentary pit pass, providing an up-close look at the exciting pit action. In past years, Paddock and Pit passes for the Grand Prix of Cleveland were available at an additional cost, so this innovation represents a significant value for ticket buyers.
Even with all of these new innovations and complimentary Paddock access, ticket prices for the Grand Prix of Cleveland remain very affordable. Beginning March 6, a full assortment of ticket options and packages will be available to the public, ranging from single-day general admission tickets starting at $10 to a 3-Day Reserved Grandstand ticket for $90. Group ticket options are also available for groups of 10 or more, including a special 25th anniversary group ticket program featuring prices as low as $25 per person for packages valued at a retail price of $90 per person. New corporate hospitality options are also being introduced to give businesses a variety of affordable opportunities to entertain clients and important guests.
